After seeing Guardians of the Galaxy, I was once again reminded of the plight of the Space DP (Director of Photography).
Shouldn’t there be a meeting between the space DP and the land DP where they’re like, “So, whip zooms or not?”

In fairness, maybe there’s just one A-list space DP who everybody uses.

And he uses a zoom because he’s like “Dude, I’m in space. I can’t be changing lenses.”

So he whip-zooms to get the coverage. And then the editors always use that bit, because it looks cool.

And he’s probably so pissed about it. He’s got a reel full of clear, smooth shots. But no one cares.

I bet he’s one bitter dude.

It’ll be called “My Lens Was Dirty ONE TIME.”
RT @DorkmanScott: @5tu I want to make this short now.
